Apple Hill Center for Chamber Music

“Apple Hill brings together people of different cultures to find new ways to communicate through music. In 1988, as U.S. Ambassador to Israel, I awarded the first Apple Hill Playing for Peace scholarship. Since that time, Apple Hill has grown to include musicians from more than a dozen countries in conflict who come together each year at Apple Hill’s International Summer Music Festival in New Hampshire to do what they can to ensure that music and peace will prevail.”

Dear Apple Hill Friend,

Pitcher MountainYou’ll probably never forget 50 musicians of assorted ages, 8-10 faculty and several Apple Hill administrators in shower caps inaugurating our new bath and shower barn in June! Or when your quartet or trio finally got your piece to flow just as it should. Or the amazing, transporting playing of your instructors on the Tuesday evening of your session!

Even though those experiences are now just treasured memories, you can continue to play a key part in the power and influence of this vital institution! You can help it to continue the tradition of teaching people to play great music together and to form trusting, loving friendships that endure for lifetimes. Even where they need to overcome centuries of mistrust and conflict.

Because we feel so strongly about the role Apple Hill plays in the world and the positive changes in Apple Hill under Lenny’s executive and artistic leadership, each of us—participants in the summer program—has committed to financially supporting Apple Hill’s annual fund. And we are asking you to join us.

We hope you will join us in raising $10,000 from AH participants, past and present, for important scholarships and necessary operating expenses.

While few can make major gifts, all of us can provide some means of support for the important and life-changing impact the Apple Hill experience can have on those participants it attracts of all ages.

Please make your secure online donation. And after you do that, please call, text, email or tweet and encourage all your Apple Hill friends to do the same.

Please join us in giving to Apple Hill today! Thank you!

P.S. Oh, and how many DOES it take to play the Mozart Clarinet Quintet? Not just the clarinet! Not just four added players! Not just the AH coaches and administrators! It also takes the parents, teachers, and all who supported the years of lessons and have made Apple Hill possible over the years. All of them and all of us! So…remember that your gift encourages others to give and that foundations that support Apple Hill are always interested in knowing how many participants contribute. Your gift really does double duty, and it’s fully deductible on your federal income tax!
