Summer Chamber Music Workshop

Application Procedure

  1. Fill out application form.
  2. Enclose a non-refundable administration fee of $75. Make check payable to: Apple Hill Center for Chamber Music, or complete credit card information in online application.
  3. Prepare an audio CD or tape of your playing (see details below).
  4. Send application, audio tape, and check to:

  5. Upon acceptance, send $500 deposit by March 1 to secure your place at the Workshop by March 1 (nonrefundable after music is assigned, usually mid-March).
  6. Send tuition balance by May 1st.

Audition Recording
Include 2 or 3 selections from different periods and styles. Include one chamber work (clearly labeling which part you are playing), and one work recently learned (clearly identified as such). A sonata or duo can suffice for your chamber music selection. Label the tape with your name, instrument, composers and titles, and the session(s) to which you are applying. Use a high quality audio cassette or CD only.

Returning participants please note: we will use your old tape unless you provide us with a new one.

Applications are considered based on availability.

Acceptance and Deposit
All spaces, including returning participant spaces, are filled on a first-come basis. Acceptance is not complete until your non-refundable $500 deposit per session has been received. All music assignments for the 2008 Summer Chamber Music Workshop will be made by April 15th, 2008.

Medical and Insurance Issues
Upon acceptance into Apple Hill’s summer program, all participants are required to submit emergency contact information and a medical physical form from their doctor. This is required by New Hampshire state law. Any medical costs incurred during the time of camp will be billed to the primary parent or guardian of the camper. In the case of serious illness or medical emergency, the advice of a physician will be followed. In such an instance, a representative from Apple Hill’s summer staff will contact the primary parent or guardian as soon as possible.

Participant Work Program
In keeping with the spirit of Apple Hill, all participants—scholarship and non-scholarship alike—will be asked to perform daily tasks to help run Apple Hill during their session. These tasks may include food preparation, building and grounds maintenance, office and administrative support, and special musical assistance.

Multiple Sessions
Multiple session attendees receive a $75 discount per session (included in above fees). If you stay for the four day bridge between sessions, the room and board fee is $300 ($75.00/day).

Scholarship Applicants
Please complete the full application, then proceed to the supplemental scholarship application. Applications without both completed forms will not be considered.
