Dublin School Welcomes Apple Hill Chamber Players and Jean Schneider

The Apple Hill Chamber Players and pianist Jean Schneider will perform at Dublin School at 3:00pm on Sunday, February 8, 2009. This concert is part of Apple Hill’s year-round Monadnock Region Concert Series.

The performance will feature Mozart’s String Quartet in A Major “Dissonant”, Anthony Green’s String Quartet, and Robert Schumann’s Piano Quintet. The Green piece is part of Apple Hill’s new “Around the World with Playing for Peace™” series, which features composers from areas toured through the organization’s Playing for Peace™ program. Green first attended the Apple Hill Summer Chamber Music Workshop as a domestic Playing for Peace™ student from Providence, RI, and is now an active composer.

As part of the Playing for Peace™ program, Apple Hill Chamber Players Elise Kuder and Sarah Kim, violins, Michael Kelley, viola, and Rupert Thompson, cello, travel across the United States, Europe, Middle East, and other areas performing concerts, conducting educational activities, and awarding scholarships to musicians of diverse backgrounds. Scholarship students then attend the Summer Chamber Music Workshop held annually in Nelson, NH.

For over 30 years, Apple Hill Center for Chamber Music has brought people of diverse backgrounds together through the teaching and playing of chamber music.
