Apple Hill Announces Keene Concert

The Apple Hill Chamber Players will perform Concert II of the Monadnock Region Concert Series at Keene Unitarian Universalist Church in Keene, New Hampshire on February 10, 2008.

The Chamber Players are excited to bring international influence and the dynamic sound of chamber music to the local arts scene. “It is always good to come home and feel the energy of the lovely people from the Monadnock Region,” said Rupert Thompson, cellist of the Apple Hill Chamber Players.

The Chamber Players are known for their Summer Concert Series hosted annually at the Apple Hill Center for Chamber Music in Nelson, New Hampshire. By expanding to year-round performance in the Monadnock Region, they plan to bring the message of peace-building through music to a wider home audience.

The February 10 concert will feature works by Mozart and Beethoven. Chamber Players Elise Kuder and Sarah Kim, violin, Michael Kelley, viola, and Rupert Thompson, cello, will be joined by Apple Hill Playing for Peace™ alum and Turkish violist Beste Tiknaz. The suggested donation at the door is $10.

A May concert in Peterborough is also planned, featuring Apple Hill Playing for Peace™ Scholar, Armenian pianist, and current Keene State College student Marina Galstyan.

For over 30 years, Apple Hill Center for Chamber Music has brought people from conflicted regions together through the teaching and playing of chamber music. Apple Hill is a not-for-profit New Hampshire organization that depends on financial support from individuals, foundations, grants, and corporations. For more information, visit www.applehill.org.
